Access Information ( Train)

Access to Tokyo Metropolitan area from Narita airport

  Major ways to access to Tokyo area are train on JR line (Narita Express “NEX”), train on Keisei line (Keisei “Skyliner”), and Limousine bus. Narita express stops at Tokyo station and such other major stops as Shinagawa station and Shinjuku station, etc.  Keisei Skyliner stops at Keisei Ueno station and Nippori station. For passengers to transfer to trains on JR line, Nippori station is more convenient than Keisei Ueno station.

Narita Express (on JR line)
     
usually runs every 1 hour and every 30 minutes at peak hours, takes ca. 1 hour from Narita to Tokyo, and one way fare is \2,940 including Limited Express ticket.

Keisei Skyliner (on Keisei line)

usually runs every 40 minutes, takes ca. 1 hour from Narita to Keisei Ueno station, and one way fare is \1,920 including Skyliner ticket.

Limousine bus (for example, for Tokyo station)

      
runs every 10 – 20 minutes, takes ca. 100 minutes from Narita to Tokyo station, and            one way fare is \3,000

Access to Mito city from Tokyo Metropolitan area

  For passengers traveling to Mito from Tokyo area, Limited Express train on JR Joban line (“Super-Hitachi” or “Fresh Hitachi”: between Ueno station in Tokyo and Mito/Iwaki area) are convenient. Limited Express train runs usually every 30 minutes. Super-Hitachi makes no-stop to Mito station, while Fresh-Hitachi makes about five stops before Mito. From other area of Tokyo Metropolitan to Ueno station, such several means are available as JR lines (Yamanote line and Keihin-Tohoku line) and subways (Ginza line and Hibiya line).
 
Super-Hitachi and Fresh-Hitachi usually depart from platform No.17 of Ueno station. Passengers arriving at Ueno station by JR line (arriving at platform No.1 - No.4) may take the red broken line to go to platform No.17 (Please refer to map of Ueno station as below). Passengers arriving at Ueno station by subway may take the blue broken line in the map to go to platform No. 17.
  Super-Hitachi and Fresh-Hitachi provide two types of seats; one is reserved seat and the other unreserved seat. Both tickets can be bought at a ticket counter at Ueno station.

Platform No.16 and No.17 : Joban line (for Super-Hitachi and Fresh-Hitachi)
Platform No.1 - 4 : Yamanote line and Keihin-Tohoku line
(Passengers traveling by JR lines from other area of Tokyo metropolitan may arrive at platform No. 1 – 4 of Ueno station.)
