The INTERNATIONAL SUMMER SCHOOL of NUCLEAR POWER PLANTS and YOUNG GENERATION WORKSHOP

Profile

The first International Summer School of nuclear  power plants will be held in Tokai-mura, Ibaraki prefecture of JAPAN, from July 28th to August 5th, 2009.

 

The International Summer School has the objective of meeting the challenges of global utilization of nuclear energy in the future. The School will present state of the art technologies, methods and research for nuclear power plants. It is intended for PhD students, post-doctoral fellows and young researchers and engineers of universities, R&D institutes and industries working on nuclear science and technology. The basic philosophy of the School is to link fundamental studies on nuclear power plants to practical application.

 

・ Lecturers are invited from internationally renown universities, research institutes and industries. The participants will benefit greatly from the lecturers of the world-top experts. In addition, the lecturers are expected to stay at least a few days during the School, guaranteeing an intensive exchange of knowledge between lecturers and students.

 

All participants are required to make poster presentation of their research at the Young Generation Workshop. Participants from industries can present their work, in lieu of research.

 

The Young generation Workshop will be held everyday during lunch break(30min. after lunch). In addition to discussion in the Workshop, the participants will benefit from developing friendship and global network through the Workshop

 

・ The School will be hosted alternatively in Japan, USA, Korea and China and managed by the host country organizers each year.
